Falls Prevention Physiotherapy

Balance and strength, built at home

Falls don't happen in clinics โ€” they happen at home. Our physiotherapists come to your loved one's home to improve balance, rebuild strength, and reduce fall risk where it actually matters. No transportation barriers. No waiting rooms. Just expert rehab in the environment that counts.

Is this right for you?

Every family's situation is different. If any of these sound familiar, you don't have to figure it out alone โ€” we can help.

Is your loved one recovering from surgery (hip, knee, shoulder replacement)?
Have they experienced a fall or are they at risk of falling?
Are they recovering from a stroke or brain injury?
Do they have difficulty walking, climbing stairs, or getting in/out of bed?
Has their doctor or surgeon recommended physiotherapy?
Do they struggle to get to a clinic for rehab appointments?

WHAT'S INCLUDED

What our physiotherapists do

Exercises that reduce fall risk โ€” tailored to their abilities, progressed at the right pace. Falls aren't inevitable; they're preventable.

โ€œMom had her knee replacement and was supposed to do outpatient physio. Getting her there was impossible โ€” the pain, the car transfers, the waiting room. We tried for two weeks and she'd made almost no progress. Haven at Home's physio started coming to the house, and within a month she was walking to the mailbox. The difference was night and day.โ€

THE PROCESS

Your first session

1

Assessment (first visit)

Your physiotherapist will review medical history, assess strength, balance, mobility, and range of motion. They'll watch your parent move โ€” walking, standing, sitting, stairs if relevant. They'll identify what's limiting function and what's fixable.

2

Treatment plan

Based on the assessment, they'll create a plan: what exercises, how often, what goals, what timeline. This isn't generic โ€” it's built for your parent's specific situation and home environment.

3

Hands-on treatment

Manual therapy if appropriate. Guided exercises. Gait training. Balance work. Whatever the session calls for.

4

Home program

Before leaving, they'll teach exercises to do between sessions. Written handout, demonstrated and practiced. They'll check these at the next visit.
